The KNUST branch of Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) has presented a cheque of Six Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢ 6,000) to the University. The donation is to support the University in its impending 45th Congregation which is scheduled to run from Monday, 20th June 2011 to Saturday, 25th June, 2011 except Thursday, 23rd June.
Mr. George Ackorful, the Area Manager of KNUST Branch, on behalf of the Bank recounted the cordial relationship that has existed between the Bank and the University over the years. Mr. Ackorful mentioned that the package was in response to a request by the University for support towards the upcoming congregation. He expressed the hope that the Bank’s contribution in this regard would continue to strengthen the good and mutual working relationship GCB has with the University. Mr. George Ackorful was accompanied by the Retail Manager of the KNUST Branch, Mr. Albert Owusu-Asare.
The Assistant Registrar of Publications (URO), Mr. Kojo Mbra Assan, received the cheque on behalf of the University, and expressed his gratitude for the kind gesture. He appealed to the GCB for such more assistance in the future for the benefits of both KNUST and the Bank. As a token, Mr. Assan presented two copies of the last two editions of the Technocrat Magazine, one of the University’s publications to the delegation and encouraged the Bank to subscribe for space in the subsequent editions to advertise their products and services.
Mr. Baffour Gyem Darkwa (Staff URO) was also present at the donation.
